With 1000s of homes SOLD in Leisure World, our agents have earned their title as experts. Many of our real estate agents are part of this great community. Joy Meile
Property Manager
Joy is the only on-site Property Manager for Leisure World rental property. No other Real Estate office has on-site services. She manages long-term and short-term rentals. If you have a home in Leisure World that you want to rent out but don’t want to deal with finding renters or taking care of them, please call. We get the highest occupancy and highest rents. Dan Callahan

Born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, Dan went to Kansas University on a golf scholarship. He has lived in the Phoenix metropolitan area for the past 29 years, mostly in the Southeast Valley. Dan visited over 20 communities before deciding that Leisure World was the best active adult community the Valley had to offer. Barbara "Babs" Shadoan was born and raised in Pennsylvania and moved to San Diego to raise her two sons in 1968. She has lived in Arizona for the past 16 years and has been a licensed agent since 1985. Babs is a full-time resident in Leisure World and is a member of the RE/MAX Hall of Fame. Jill was born in Pennsylvania and spent parts of her life in Ohio, Wyoming and California. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Wyoming. She moved to Arizona in 1992, working in management for America West Airlines. During this time, Jill served on the Board of Directors for the Society of Consumer Affairs Professionals in Business (SOCAP). In 2004, she became a licensed realtor, enjoying her work with buyers and sellers throughout Phoenix. After residing in various areas of the Southeast Valley, Jill and her husband became residents of Leisure World and began enjoying life in this great active adult community! Sheila Popeck

Sheila was born in Utah and raised in California. She then moved to Phoenix in 1993 to raise her family of three beautiful children. She became a licensed real estate agent in 2005, and has absolutely loved her career helping homeowners both sell and purchase their dream homes. She prides herself in providing timely and superior service. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. Mary Jane Burns

As an Arizona native with more than 10 years of real estate experience, Mary Jane provides her clients with local market expertise and neighborhood information–key to any real estate transaction. She began her career as a mortgage originator and spent several years as a lead buyer agent and trainer for new hires. Mary Jane was an educator in the public school system in Phoenix and Tucson, and worked as an account manager for a Scottsdale educational consulting company. As an alumnus of Arizona State University, Mary Jane served on the board of the Triangle Y Camp in the Tucson area, volunteered at North Mountain Park and has volunteered with a number of elder care organizations. Dennis Heimpel

Dennis was born in Kitchener, Ontario, immigrated to the United States in 2012 and is a Leisure World resident. Dennis retired from the Canadian Armed Forces as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer in 1992 and has been a member of the PGA of Canada since that time. His hobbies include golf, music and travel. Suzanne ‘Sue' Lorentzen was born in Korea and raised in the suburbs of New York City. She moved to Arizona in 1996 where she raised her three daughters. She went to college in New York on a full volleyball scholarship and spent a year in Korea studying at one of the top universities. She has been working in the airline industry since 2006. She sold real estate for several years during that time and has joined Re/Max Classic. With her experience in customer service, she can understand her client's needs and help them with buying and selling their home. Having been the property manager for RE/MAX Classic the last four years, Cherie brings a wealth of knowledge about Leisure World. Cherie was born and raised in New Jersey and fell in love with Arizona in the 80s. Cherie had been with the largest clothing retailer before starting a family here in Mesa. She has spent her time volunteering for programs such as Phoenix Children’s Hospital and the Cancer Support Community. She has a passion for helping people find a place to call home. Judy O'Malley

Judy was born in Coleman, TX but was raised in Bisbee, AZ. Her family moved to Bisbee when she was 3 years old. At age 20 she began a long career in the Finance industry, starting with Western Savings and Loan (a familiar name here in Leisure World) as Branch Manager/Assistant VP in Tucson AZ. After many bank mergers and closures, she started working in the RV industry as a Finance Director before becoming a realtor. She was encouraged by her husband, whom had his broker’s license to get her Real estate license and help him with his company. After moving to Leisure World, she decided to go to work with our Leisure World owned office, RE/MAX Classic. Jim Ellis
Designated Broker
Adept in real estate sales and management, Jim has worked for 15-plus years as a REALTOR® and 12-plus years as a Designated Broker. Jim was born in Iowa and raised in Upper Michigan, where he attended Northern Michigan University. Over 40 years ago after dealing with too many snowstorms, he packed up his belongings and headed to find warmth and sunshine. He ended up in Arizona, where he met his wife Gloria. When away from work, Jim enjoys spending time kayaking, hiking, traveling to Vienna, Austria, where their son and his family live, restoring ’60’s muscle cars, and spending time with his grandsons in Arizona.
